Busta Rhymes Weirds Out Fans With His Bizarre Pizza Preference

Busta Rhymes has weirded out a few of his fans after sharing what some of them have deemed to be a strange pizza preference. A video emerged on Friday (July 28) of Busta and Burna Boy enjoying a nice slice of New York City pizza together, but fans got to talking after Busta took out the salt and pepper shakers and began sprinkling them on his slice.

“N-gga sodium levels gone be high asl,” wrote one fan on a post shared by Akademiks, while another added: “Putting salt & pepper on a pizza must be something passed down from the Martin Luther King old head era.”

Busta himself commented on Ak’s post with numerous fire emojis, seemingly supporting his decisions, but the fan’s clowning didn’t stop.

“Salt… on pizza… that’s a Busta Crimes,” wrote another fan, while a fourth used a Dave Chappelle quote in their response: “Dave Chappelle said salt is killing black people.”

“See NY PIZZA GOTTA be NASTY if you need salt & pepper,” added another.

Speaking of pizza, back in 2021, The Notorious B.I.G.’s daughter T’yanna Wallace and Jam Master Jay’s daughter Tyra Myricks opened up a New York-style pizzeria in Los Angeles dubbed Juicy Pizza, an obvious nod to Biggie’s 1994 classic “Juicy.”

Tyra Myricks, who’d relocated to Los Angeles from New York City, realized the city was lacking in what she considered quality pizza. So, she took matters into her own hands and recruited Wallace for the journey.

“I realized that LA doesn’t have good NY-style pizza,” she wrote in February via Instagram.”So instead of going on an endless hunt for some I decided to make some!”

Juicy Pizza is located at 615 N. La Brea Avenue in the Fairfax/Hollywood area and will operate solely during dinner hours. The menu is built around cheese and pepperoni pizza but includes additional Big Apple offerings such as oxtail, beef and broccoli, jerk chicken, and chopped cheese egg rolls.

Lil Yachty also launched his own pizza line in Walmart last year. Dubbed Yachty’s Pizzeria, the idea was born out of Lil Boat’s pure love of the Italian staple.

“I’ve loved making and eating pizza my whole life, so this is a project I’m really excited about and have been for a long time,” Yachty said in a statement. “We made some wild flavors but there’s still something for everybody. I take my pizza seriously so I’m looking forward to seeing what people think.”

The pizzas come in four savory flavors including Buffalo Style Chicken, Hot Honey Cheese, Pepperoni & Bacon as well as Veggie Supreme. All pies are currently on sale for $6.98.

In other Busta news, the rapper got candid in an interview with Apple Music’s Ebro last month and explained how Pharrell and Swizz Beats helped get him back on track during a difficult phase in his life.

“There have been some times in the last four-five years where I needed to make some changes that were very serious changes, personally and professionally,” he explained. “Because I’m the type of person where I love hard and I’m loyal to the point where it can be a burden as opposed to the loyalty being a blessing.”

Though Bus didn’t elaborate on his issues any further, he did explain how much his friends contributed to setting him straight.

“I became so complacent in this space that it was starting to harm me,” he proceeded. “And I needed to talk to somebody and try to help get a navigation to help me reach to the destination that I needed to reach to get up out of that and get back to my happiness and my peace of mind.

“Pharrell and Swizz very specifically in this area of my life, in this time of my life, were just the two people that I was able to trust with my most vulnerable space.”
