Committee agrees suspended Public Protector Busisiwe Mkwebane is incompetent

It seems suspended Public Protector Busisiwe Mkwebane’s days are numbered.

The committee looking into her fitness to hold office voted on the findings of an independent panel.

They largely found her guilty of incompetence and misconduct.

Mkhwebane has been suspended since June last year.

It is now up to the committee to adopt a draft report and present it to Mkhwabane for written comment.

After that, the committee will draw up its final report for tabling in the National Assembly for determination.

All this is expected to be done during August.

Mkhwebane’s term expires in October.
