Buhari to visit SA after attacks on foreign nationals

Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari will visit South Africa in October.

According to the Presidency, Buhari’s visit will seek “to reinforce the strong bonds between the two countries and jointly develop responses to challenges affecting people and businesses in South Africa and Nigeria.”

President Cyril Ramaphosa has met with Special envoy of Buhari, Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar.

“In yesterday’s discussion, the Special Envoy conveyed President Buhari’s concern at recent events in South Africa, in the context of the strong and cordial relations that characterise the interaction between the two countries,” the Presidency said in a statement.

Buhari’s visit comes after widespread attacks on foreign nationals.
