To ensure that SAMA’s corporate identity is enhanced through all branding efforts and that all events hosted by SAMA or for clients portray SAMA as the market leaders.
Job Responsibilities:
Branding:
·
Develop a
Corporate Identity Manual
for the organization, by conducting research and obtaining information from the target market, to ensure that SAMA and its subsidiaries apply the Brand consistently in their daily activities. (i.e. CIM = formatting, colours, logos, templates for all departments, setting standards for telephone management, voice mail standards, name badge’s).

Conduct annual
branding audits
with the SAMA departments/divisions as well as its branches to determine the
needs
for the Association and then develop branding checklist to address these needs and control the image of SAMA appropriately and effectively throughout South Africa.

Manage the overall development &
implementation
of the SAMA brand through all communication, initiatives, marketing and other related functions, by ensuring that the SAMA staff and its representatives are trained and congruent in their approach to marketing SAMA in the industry according to the SAMA branding standards.

Design, create and manage all
marketing & branding material/merchandise
, in conjunction with the Marketing Officers, to enhance the image of SAMA and portray SAMA as the market leaders in its service offering to its members. Including but not limited to: brochures, business card, letterheads, fax covers, envelops, notepads,
SAMA pens, diaries cards, wrapping paper, labels, packaging, caps, mugs, water bottle, golf kits, pens, flash disks, signage for hospitals, events, posters etc.
Develop and ensure adherence to the set branding
telephonic etiquette
by ensuring that the SAMA’s greeting and voicemail are professional and standardized throughout the organization and that all staff members answer and distribute calls according to the branding standard.
Events:
Plan, direct, manage and coordinate all events for SAMA and potential external clients and ensure that each event is executed meticulously according to the agreed project plan or requirements agreed to with the internal or external client. Events including but are not limited to:
Golf days, SAMA conferences, media conferences, Dinner and Awards, National Council
Seminars, promotions, road shows (in conjunction with marketing)
CPD events for SAMA and external clients
GP indaba
Health Awareness Days
Other events hosted by SAMA
Ensure that all events portray SAMA as the market leaders in the industry by executing events which are unique, innovative and satisfy the needs of the intended audience.
Draft annual and quarterly plans for corporate social responsibility initiatives that SAMA can implement to support the community and at the same time portray SAMA in a favourable light to its members and the larger community and ensure effective and efficient implementation thereof.
Ensure that insurance, legal, health and safety obligations are adhered to for all events.
Relationship Management
·
Build wide and effective relationships with suppliers to ensure that discounted rates can be obtained for all branding initiatives and events as well as with benefit partners and other potential clients to obtain sponsorship in order to support these initiatives.
(done in conjunction with Marketing Officers)

Liaise with and brief internal departments and staff to ensure that events are executed and managed effectively from start to end, e.g. finance for payments, PR and Journalist for media coverage and advertising, marketing for sponsorship support etc.
Finance, Budgeting and Sales
·
Research, plan and compile an annual events calendars by liaising with relevant key stakeholders (HOD’s, Committee’s & Board, etc) and referring to the requirement of the Marketing & Communications Division.

Draft an annual budget for the branding and events function and submit it for approval on an annual basis.
Draft accurate project plans and budgets for each event to highlight timelines, resources need, allocation of responsibilities (for sponsorship, supplier negotiations etc) and ensure that it is managed according to the overall budget set.
Oversee the compilation of request for invoices and submit for approval to ensure that all suppliers are paid timeously
Ensure that set targets for sponsorship are achieved for SAMA events to ensure that the organisation does not run at a loss.
In conjunction with the Marketing Officers,
sell sponsorship/stand/exhibition space to potential exhibitors/partners.
Leadership & Growth

Manage the daily performance of the Branding Events Assistant through coaching, mentoring, training and performance management to ensure that the work is carried out meticulously and effectively.
Reports
Analyse and compile post-event evaluation report including success, learning points and opportunities, for each event in order to illustrate a ROI (Return of Investment) for future event planning.
Candidate Requirements
Job Requirements:
BCom degree in Marketing or equivalent
Project Management diploma/course
5-7 years branding experience
5-7 years events management experience
2-3 years budgeting experience
Basic understanding of the Consumer Protection Act
Working knowledge of applicable graphic design software ( e.g. Publisher)
