These are the places you should see in Botswana

Naledi Selebogo, a customer service agent from Air Namibia, tells us about her home country Botswana.

Why should people travel to Botswana? It was ranked as one of the most peaceful countries in the world.

What are some of the most interesting tourism destinations? There are two towns that travellers have to see. Maun is a town on the Thamalakane River in northern Botswana. It’s the jumping-off point for the vast inland Okavango Delta, which becomes a lush wildlife habitat during the seasonal floods. The other town, Kasane, is in the northeastern corner of Botswana, near the borders with Namibia. It is home to Chobe National Park and the most elephants and buffalos.

What can travellers do if they had only 24 hours in the country? They should definitely visit its Capital City Gaborone. There are many national parks that will leave you entertained. Among them are Gaborone Game Reserve and Mokolodi Nature Reserve. If you love to know about history, go see the Three Dikgosi Monument that depicts three dikgosi: Khama III of the Bangwato, Sebele I of the Bakwena, and Bathoen I of the Bangwaketse.

Any food we should be trying? Botswana is known for a pounded meat dish called seswaa, which everyone should taste. Botswana has most of the fast food outlets that South Africa has.

Travel tips? South African travellers do not require a visa. The food is expensive, so budget for meals before visiting.
