Botswana to go on lockdown after confirming COVID-19 cases

Botswana‘s president has declared a state of emergency and a lockdown. This comes a day after the country confirmed its first three cases of the coronavirus.
“We can confirm that the minister of health for Botswana that we have three cases…” said Botswana Democratic Party communications chairperson, Kagelelo Kentse. Botswana’s lockdown will come into effect on Thursday and will last for 28 days.
The three people who tested positive for the virus are currently in quarantine. The two had recently travelled to Thailand and one travelled to Beijing.b They are all Botswana citizens.
