
MODEL and TV presenter Bonginkosi “Bongs’ Ndima has been crowned as Mr Gay World South Africa.
The 37-year-old, who hails from KZN, took to social media to celebrate the win.
“It’s official, ladies and gents. Your first black Mr Gay World SA 2021. Mr Gay World SA, thank you for the opportunity and all the partners, let’s make it a great year,” he said.
The crown was handed over to the new king on Saturday, 13 November.
The organisation also took to social media to welcome him.
“What an amazing day. Thank you, Mercedes Benz, for spoiling us with weekend wheels for his crowning and the official sash handover to Mr Gay SA Bongs. This is pride.”
The newly crowned king’s journey began earlier this year, with the theme of the pageant being United with Purpose.
The finalists were selected in a preliminary round of judging on 1 May, and he was then crowned first runner-up at the finale on 21 May at The Galleria Conference in Sandton, Joburg.
Bongs is taking over the crown from Louw Breytenbach, who has now been crowned Mr Gay World.
