Residents of Hambanathi township in Tongaat are protesting outside Verulam court. Seven suspects are appearing in court in connection with the assault of a 16-year-old boy. It is alleged that the boy was assaulted for stealing from a local tavern.
An ongoing search for the Tongaat teenager led to the discovery of suspected human remains in a river. The remains were sent for a DNA test.
