R75 million in assets seized in blue light case

The net is closing in on corrupt South African Police Services officials.

The Asset Forfeiture Unit has seized R75m worth of assets from corrupt police officials and service providers.

A total of 19 properties and 115 vehicles including trucks were confiscated.

The latest developments are linked to the controversial R191m blue lights case.

This involved blue light installations for Gauteng SAPS vehicles.

Some of the accused failed in their attempt to have the case struck from the roll.

Several SA top cops, including the former Acting National Commissioner, Kgomotso Phahlane are involved in the fraud case.
