South African singer, Zakes Bantwini had family members, friends and colleagues gather to celebrate his 42nd birthday.

The DJ turned a new age on the 26th of May but celebrated it this week.

The guests and the celebrants were officially dressed and they looked classy.

Photos from the birthday celebration were shared on social media and he captioned them with, “I am my ancestor’s wildest dream. I am from KwaMashu #zakes40something.”

Nandi Madida who is the wife of the celebrant wished her husband a happy birthday on the 26th with a lovely note.

“Happy birthday to a man who has really taught me what it means to be absolutely spiritually aligned with the universe. I remember you were writing and producing Osama and were on a fast at the time, you kept telling me that you felt so connected to the spiritual world and wanted that to reflect in your new music. Our daughter who was a huge inspiration for the song had just received her diagnosis for being autistic during that time, you were so happy and mentioned you always knew she was special and smart. I have learnt from you that success is happiness, peace, and contentment and not tangible things.”
