SA’s Banyana recognised at CAF awards

South Africa had something to celebrate at the CAF awards.

The event in Senegal’s capital Dakar was attended by the cream of Africa’s footballing crop.

They looked on as Desiree Ellis was named the Caf Women’s Coach Of The Year for 2018.

She was rewarded for her exploits with Banyana, which culminated with the team finishing runners-up at the women’s Afcon.

Banyana striker Thembi Kgatlana was named African Women’s Player Of The Year.

Kgatlana was named Afcon player of the tournament in Ghana.

Her superb performances lit up the showpiece and made her a national hero.

Kgatlana’s stunning strike against Nigeria also won goal of the year.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah was voted Men’s Footballer Of The Year.
