Evacuated South Africans back home

Over twenty South Africans who fled war-torn Sudan by boat to the Port of Safaga in Egypt returned home on Thursday.
The group was stranded at the Egyptian port for 3 days after being denied entry by the country’s authorities.
They were granted entry following intervention by the International Relations and Cooperation Department and the Gift of the Givers.
A total of 55 South Africans who were evacuated from Sudan arrived back in South Africa at the weekend.
