
The Wallabies avoid a massive upset by posting 27 unanswered points against a brave Fiji outfit to eventually win 39-21 in their Rugby World Cup opener under the dome in Sapporo.

Fiji captain Dominiko Waqaniburotu said after the game that discipline let his side down and that he is “very disappointed” with the result.
Whilst Wallabies captain Michael Hooper says he is “absolutely” satisfied with a “testing” victory. He also praised the replacements who made such a huge difference off the bench.
“That’s what we need from the guys coming off the bench to come in and finish things off.”
