Bishop in trouble for attacking Magoshas – He gets invited for a service to see how good it is

The Sisonke National S.e.xworker Movement has lashed out at Bishop Bheki Ngcobo. This was after he made remarks that the movement found distasteful outside Durban City Hall on Thursday, 29 July.
Ngcobo was speaking following a march against church closures and the Promotion of Equality and Prevention of Unfair Discrimination Act.
He said the government needed to provide enough jobs because the country couldn’t have a situation where women were desperate enough to sell their bodies.
Sisonke spokeswoman Yonela Sinqu said magoshas felt attacked by the remarks.
“It’s very disheartening to see such a prominent figure being misled by conservative minds, who in the same breath mislead and divide residents,” she said.
Sinqu said s.e.x work was not only something done by women on the street.
“S.e.x workers are no different to entrepreneurs. The only difference is that the service becomes illegal when financial gain is attached to it,” she said.
“The adult entertainment arena is a very versatile community, ranging from str!ppers, p0rn0graphy makers and stars right through to the sale of s.e.x toys.”
Sinqu said Ngcobo’s attack was uncalled for. “S.e.x workers are consenting adults who render a service to willing participants.”
Sinqu said Ngcobo needed sensitivity training from organizations such as Sisonke.
“Sisonke would love to invite him to one of our dialogues to better understand s.e.x work. We invite him to our Pride Day event on 14 September in KZN as a start.”
However, Ngcobo stood by his comments, saying: “Sinning can’t be likened to the selling of bodies, which is a continuous thing.”
