Police make breakthrough in probe into Athlone double murder & attempted murder
Western Cape Anti-Gang Unit detectives have made a breakthrough in their investigation into a double murder and attempted murder in Athlone.
The crimes were committed last Thursday.
A 17-year-old suspect was arrested earlier this week and is expected to make his first court appearance on Friday.
The police’s Joseph Swartbooi said: “According to reports, three armed men fired several gunshots at the residents in front of a house in Nerina Close, Athlone, fatally shot and killed two males, while another male was admitted to hospital with a gunshot wound.”
