Imagine being separated from the love of your life for years, and later reunited and ready to turn the page and start over again.
That best describes Mapula and Tshepho’s relationship. the couple met at a council meeting, some many years ago. It was love at first sight for Tshepo and he asked about Mapula, wanting to know more about her.
He managed to get her number and the two started chatting as friends. Then one time, Mapula fell sick and unfortunately, had to be hospitalised. This happened round about the same time Tshepo had planned on inviting her to a work function.
Seeing that she was in hospital, Tshepo then decided to bring the function to Mapula’s hospital bed. How cool is that!? he brought flowers and balloons, the works! Although they were still friends at that time, Mapula was quite pleased by his gesture.
It so happened that Tshepo found a job elsewhere. This caused a rift between them, such that they had to separate. This was a difficult time for both of them, especially Mapula but she never gave up on the hope that he’d come back one day and he did!
The couple invited Our Perfect Wedding because they want to send out this message to everyone: “No matter what the challenges you’re going through, no matter how long it takes. Anything is possible if you believe in your love.”
