Another arrest in Free State asbestos tender

The Hawks has arrested another person in connection with a 2014 Free State asbestos tender.

The suspect allegedly received kickbacks worth more than R7-million.

She was the Acting HOD of the Gauteng Department of Human Settlements, who also authorized the same service provider irregularly in the province.

She’s due to appear in the High Court in Bloemfontein.

Ace Magashule and his co-accused have already been charged over the Free State’s R255-million asbestos audit contract.

Blackhead Consulting, the company run by controversial businessman Edwin Sodi, was one of the firms involved in the tender.
