Guard injured in courier van armed robbery
KwaZulu-Natal: At 10H00 Wednesday Netcare 911 responded to reports if a shooting outside Bridge City Shopping centre in KwaMashu North of Durban.
Reports indicate that a courier bakkie carrying a mixed load and security escort vehicle came under fire by an unknown number of gunmen.
The escort vehicle took two rounds through the back window grazing the guard passenger on the head.
A tracking vehicle in the area heard the sounds of gunshots and went to investigate also coming under fire, striking the vehicle multiple times.
Fortunately, the tracking officer escaped the injury.
It is unclear what the gunmen escaped with.
The guard that was injured was treated on scene and once stabilized was transported by ambulance to the hospital for further care.
