a detailed curriculum vitae and cover letter (please note that the first three (3) referees on your CV will be contacted with regard to reference checking);
certified copies (not older than 3 months) of all academic records;
certified copies (not older than 3 months) of qualifications (please provide the SAQA accreditation in the case of foreign qualifications);

proof of registration with a Professional Body (if applicable);
a copy of your driver’s license (if applicable).

Duties and responsibilities:
Transfer public and non-public records as initiated by the Head of Archives.
Deliver customer service promoting access and use of UFS records.
Deliver a professional service promoting the proper management and care of records.

Inherent requirements:
Bachelor degree on NQF Level 7 in Archival Studies or equivalent qualification (Any Bachelor degree plus Postgraduate Diploma in Archival Studies).

Recommendations:
Two (2) years’ relevant experience.

Required competencies:
Knowledge of Archival and Records management studies and the academic world.
Knowledge of the National Archives and Records Service of South Africa Act, 1996 (Act No. 43 of 1996).
Knowledge of the university’s organisational structure, functions and records system.
Knowledge of the National Automated Archival Information Retrieval System (NAAITS).
Knowledge of Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS).
Appraisal of the university’s record.
Knowledge of using finding aids (Inventory).
Computer literacy.
Excellent interpersonal relations.
Client service orientation.
Excellent communication skills as well as ability to liaise on different levels internally and externally.
Excellent presentation skills.
Innovative/creative problem solving skills.
The ability to apply diversity principles and adapt easily to change.
Ability to work with others in teamwork.
Willingness to work outside normal office hours.
Organisational and planning skills.
Values and principles driven (Integrity, Respect, Punctuality, Commitment, Tolerance, and Accountability).

Salary:

The salary scale is available on request.
