Anthony Laffor set to leave Mamelodi Sundowns

Anthony Laffor set to leave Mamelodi Sundowns. The former SuperSport United and Jomo Cosmos forward is in the last year of his contract and will be free to sign a pre-contract with another club when the January transfer window opens.

Liberian international Anthony Laffor could be in his final season with Mamelodi Sundowns.

Anthony LafforNot for the first time, Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs are said to be interested in the 33-year-old who is dying for regular action, having endured a difficult year or two with the Brazilians.

KickOff.com has been informed that Amakhosi could make a move to bring the player on board in January, but would have to wait until the end of the season if Sundowns are unwilling to let him go.

Laffor, who has been struggling with injuries, has made just two appearances this season, both in the two-legged MTN8 semi-final against Cape Town City. Due to injury, he managed only 15 appearances in all competitions last season.

The player has been registered for the CAF Champions League squad by Sundowns, but breaking into the first team will be difficult with players such as Gaston Sirino, Lebohang Maboe and Themba Zwane doing well for the club.

Other players that could leave Sundowns in January are George Lebese, Lucky Mohomi, Mogakolodi Ngele and Bangaly Soumahoro to name a few.
