Andile Mpisane graces screens of Time Square in New York

MUSICIAN and Royal AM chairman, Andile Mpisane, is the latest South African to grace the screens of Time Square in New York.

His mum Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize shared a video, taken from the city that never sleeps and shared it on Instagram.

She wrote: “Oh my gosh, guess whose son is on Time Square’s billboard in New York City? On my way to take a close-up for you. I guess New York was never ready.”

The mother-son duo is currently living it up in the US.

Last Saturday, Andile performed at the Legendz of The Streetz Tour in Missouri.

They rubbed shoulders with the likes of Rick Ross, Nelly, Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Trina and DJ Drama.

Taking to social media on Sunday, MaMkhize shared a post about how proud she was of Andile.

“The opening act of the Legendz of The Streetz. We spent over 24 hours flying to the US for this moment right here! Seeing my son spread his wings and taking over the world stages has been an honour to witness. It’s possible, dear black child. If you can dream it, you can do it. This is only the beginning @andilempisane10, mummy will be by your side, cheering you on and most importantly, believing in you. Super proud of you,” she wrote on Instagram.

Amapiano musicians Lady Du, Focalistic and DBN Gogo are some of the local artists who have also graced the screens.
