ANC still undecided on Busisiwe Mkhwebane’s removal

The ANC hasn’t decided, just yet, whether to support moves to remove Busisiwe Mkhwebane from office. On Tuesday, a full bench of the High Court found the Public Protector lacked a basic understanding of the law and its application.
The court said she made irrational findings when investigating a R500,000 donation to President Cyril Ramaphosa.
In a formal response, ANC Deputy Secretary-General Jessie Duarte conceded the judgment was quite scathing about Mkhwebane, thereby strengthening the hand of those who want her out. The ANC, however, will await Parliament’s investigation before deciding on the mandate to give to its parliamentarians.
