ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa and the party’s national working committee (NWC) will be in the North West this weekend to meet with regional structures.
The province has been marred by service delivery failures, with at least nine municipalities being placed under administration.
Ramaphosa is expected to visit the troubled Mahikeng area on Saturday to engage leaders from the Ngaka Modiri Molema region.
The president will lead an NWC meeting at the Mahikeng Civic Centre. Other meetings are also expected to take place across the province.
Apart from the issue of failing municipalities, the meetings are expected to address disputes over the 2021 local government election candidates lists.
All regions in the province lodged disputes over the selection process for councillors ahead of the local polls.
Some party members are still angry about the ANC’s failure to deal timeously with those disputes.
The North West visit follows similar interactions with regional structures in Limpopo and KwaZulu-Natal.
