Some members of the ANC NEC are in Durban to meet with the eThekwini leadership while the city’s mayor is on extended special leave.
ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe dispelled any impressions that the meeting was unique to the municipality.
Mabe stated the executive would be meeting with leadership from municipalities across the country as part of their normal duties.
eThekwini mayor Zandile Gumede is facing fraud and corruption charges and is out on R50,000 bail.
