Ace Magashule removed from virtual ANC NEC meeting

Suspended ANC Secretary-General Ace Magashule has been removed from a virtual party NEC meeting.

Meanwhile, the ANC Women’s League has called for unity within the ANC leadership.

The body says it’s concerned about worsening tensions in the movement.

In a statement, the women’s league says it’s worried about the public conduct of the suspended Ace Magashule.

In an interview, Magashule said the women’s league supported him and opposed the step-aside policy.

But the women’s league says he must humble himself while organizational processes unfold.

Magashule was suspended on Wednesday after he failed to step aside from his position.

He’s facing corruption and fraud charges relating to a R255m asbestos project in the Free State.
