City Power excludes Nasrec from load shedding over ANC National Conference

City Power has suspended power cuts from the ANC’s 55th National Elective Conference currently taking place in Nasrec.

This follows a request from the South African Police Service NatJoints.

The exclusion from the conference is effective from Saturday until the end of the conference.

City Power says this is to assist security operations in the area due to the presence of top government officials.

The exclusion follows a City power 3-day reprieve from Eskom to allow operations in parts of Johannesburg that were recently affected by floods.

City Power says it always supports major events in the city regardless of their nature.
