ANC must take renewal seriously: Thabo Mbeki

African National Congress (ANC) former president Thabo Mbeki says the party must take renewal seriously and respond honestly to the concerns raised by South Africans.

In an exclusive interview with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), Mbeki says the party must ensure that it sends a message that it will engage the public on their grievances especially after the general elections.

Mbeki referred to the example of ANC stalwart, Getrude Shope, who is celebrating her 99th birthday today. Mbeki says Shope was an outstanding leader.
