ANC members killed in horror crash laid to rest in Mpumalanga

Seven African National Congress members who died in a horror bus crash after the party’s elections manifesto have been laid to rest in Mpumalanga.

They were travelling home from the party’s manifesto launch at the Moses Mabhida Stadium last week Saturday.

The bus they were travelling in overturned on the N3 near Paulpietersburg, leaving 70 others injured.

The KZN Transport Department as well as the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

“The corporation will be activated to bring down forensic experts to assist in establishing the cause of the accident. The investigation will be multi-pronged however, we’ll focus mainly on the road condition, on the condition of the bus, and the condition of the driver,” said the RTMC’s Kwanele Ncalane.
