Two shot dead in KZN including ANC councillor candidate

The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal has confirmed the killing of its ward councillor candidate Siyabonga Mkhize. He was shot on Friday evening in Cato Crest in eThekwini.
According to paramedics, two people were killed and two others wounded. ANC Provincial spokesperson Nhlakanipho Ntombela says details are still sketchy at this stage.
Ntombela says the party will visit Mkhize’s family on Saturday. The country is gearing up for Local Government Elections on 1 November, with several politically motivated killings having already occurred.
Three women were gunned down in September outside an ANC branch meeting in Inanda.
In addition, ANC councillor Tshepo Motaung was shot in Mabopane in Pretoria, also in September.
