Almost 600 doctors are ready to serve in various communities. The cohort graduated from Cuban universities as part of the Nelson Mandela/Fidel Castro Medical Collaboration Programme.
The programme aims to alleviate the dire shortage of doctors in South Africa.
Health Minister Joe Phaahla says they want to empower more doctors and keep the initiative going.
