Almost 1,000 arrested during Operation O Kae Molao
Almost 1,000 people, including 40 undocumented foreigners, have been arrested in Ekurhuleni. Operation O Kae Molao descended on Benoni on Thursday morning. The area is riddled with illegal mines.
The police say abandoned mines in the area make it very attractive to Zama Zamas but they’re intent to keep an eye out for illegal activities.
A similar operation on Wednesday night managed to net a suspect in the Rosettenville cash-in-transit incident.
Police have also now revealed they disarmed an Operation Dudula member and while the firearm is licensed it will still have to go for ballistic tests.
