Alleged Parliament arsonist Zandile Mafe denied bail

Alleged Parliament arsonist Zandile Mafe was denied bail on Friday. The 49-year-old is facing charges relating to that devastating fire.

The Cape Town regional court was not satisfied that the applicant provided exceptional circumstances to be released on bail. He took the stand last Saturday during his bail hearing.

The matter will return to Cape Town magistrate’s court on 11 February.
