Alcohol poisoning, overdose ruled out as cause of death #TavernTragedy

Alcohol poisoning and overdoses have been ruled out as the cause of death of 21 teenagers at Enyobeni Tavern in the Eastern Cape. According to the Eastern Cape Health Department, the alcohol levels found in blood samples were not lethal amounts.

Methanol was also detected in the bodies but these levels are still being confirmed.

Meanwhile, Police Minister Bheki Cele says special teams are still investigating the cause of the death of the teenagers.

He says they have promised to return to communities to ensure they don’t encounter another tragedy.
