There’ve been more administrative hurdles in the Senzo Meyiwa trial causing delays in the Pretoria High Court.
Proceedings were halted in the Pretoria High Court on Monday morning, for the State to provide further documentation on cellphone data.
The defence was meant to cross-examine state witness Lieutenant Colonel Gideon Gouws on his analysis of phones believed to be of the accused but that could not happen.
Last week, the defence asked for Section 205 documents which detail the application made by the State for cellphone data to be retrieved and analysed.
While some of the defence lawyers say they have not received what they asked for – the State’s advocate George Baloyi insists he has handed the documents over.
It’s the defence which asked for more comprehensive information.
The defence has also asked for time to consult with the accused, but the lawyers say they will only be able to give an indication of how much time they need on Tuesday.
