JOB OVERVIEW
The QA and Administration Officer will take the lead in the development, implementation, monitoring and review of QA procedures. To support quality assurance and academic administration of the institution through assisting with reviews of academic and support departments, quality promotion, coordinating institutional reviews and programme approval processes, servicing institutional quality assurance structures and, helping to monitor and improve the effectiveness of the Institution’s quality management and administration system.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB, but NOT LIMITED TO:
The Quality Assurance and Administration Officer is responsible for the following: –
 accreditation, re-accreditation and registration of programmes, quality assurance of new programmes, site visits, quality-assuring and submitting applications for amendments and extensions of scope,
 annual surveys and reporting to the Department of Higher Education and Training.

To provide support by taking the responsibility for all documentation relating to quality assurance, support, development & enhancement and monitoring & evaluation, and ensure they are maintained in an orderly and accessible system for the purposes of periodic reporting, internal & external audits, programme and institutional review, accreditation- events and other quality assurance events.
To support the General Manager on matters relating to the operationalisation and management of the Institution’s Quality Management System (QMS).
To contribute to the implementation, monitoring, management and review of the quality management policies and procedures and associated administrative strategies, systems, processes and procedures and contribute to institution-wide projects and QA related activities.
To provide the General Manager with professional quality management advice, guidance and staff training relating to quality assurance, support, development & enhancement and monitoring & evaluation.
To Work closely with the General Manager to ensure that assessment processes and marks management meet academic best practice and complies with the institution’s requirements.
To undertake such other duties as are reasonable in relation to quality assurance policy and good practice

Job Requirements:

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Minimum of a relevant Bachelor’s degree or relevant educational and/or professional qualification at the graduate level.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITIES
 Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain positive, effective working relationships with colleagues and external contacts
 Ability to work using own initiative and independently
 Meticulous attention to detail.
 Enthusiasm, self-motivation and good communication skills
 Ability to work within a team
 Ability to keep up to date on relevant policies and procedures in line with the duties identified in the job
 Ability to organise and manipulate a wide range and complexity of qualitative and quantitative material and produce reports and briefings to deadlines
 Ability to work under pressure, manage a complex and varied workload, prioritise personal work schedules and work with minimum supervision.
 Ability to communicate logically, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

EXPERIENCE
 Previous relevant experience in further/higher education management and administration
 Understanding of current South African policies in higher education, particularly in relation to quality assurance and enhancement.
 Experience of working in a data management capacity within education.
 Experience of producing accurate data for reporting and assessment.
 Experience of forming and maintaining network relationships.
 Information gathering and analysis.
 High-level computer skills
