Ace Magashule’s former PA granted bail

The Bloemfontein High Court says it doesn’t believe Ace Magashule’s former PA Moroadi Cholota is a flight risk following a decision to grant her bail.
Cholota was granted R2,500 bail on Thursday.
She is among several people, including Magashule and controversial businessman Edwin Sodi, accused of looting in the multi-million rand asbestos tender scandal.
A visibly emotional Moroadi Cholota cried in the dock when the court granted her bail.
Cholota couldn’t hold back her tears, occasionally wiping her face with her green sweater.
She nodded enthusiastically as the judge read out her bail conditions.
Cholota will be confined to Bloemfontein for the duration of the matter – where she’s expected to live with relatives.
She’ll also have to report to the investigating officer at a local police station twice a week.
The court warned of strict sanctions should she fail to comply with the bail conditions – including issuing a warrant of arrest.
Cholota is set to return to court on Friday, for the matter to be transferred to the Bloemfontein High Court.
