Abahlali baseMjondolo is blaming the ANC for attacks on its leadership.
It follows the murder of eKhanene Commune chairperson Lindokuhle Mnguni on Saturday morning.
The shack dwellers’ organization says greed for land and corruption are behind the killings.
“Our only crime is actually to fight for the landless, the poorest in this country and Lindokuhle Mnguni is one of the persons who led the occupation and the commune,” said Thapelo Mohapi.
“There are people with vested interests in that piece of land because they wanna build houses that they can sell and the community is defying that saying we want to create a commune where we can sustain ourselves.
“And as a result of that, they are facing repression and attacks from the leadership of the ruling party in that particular area.”
