9 people killed in Western Cape bus crash

Nine people have died in a bus crash on the Van Rhyn Pass between Niewoudville and Van Rhynsdorp in the Western Cape. Head of Communication of the Provincial Mobility Department, Muneera Allie, says 16 others were injured.
Allie says 42 passengers were travelling on the bus from the Northern Cape to Western Cape when it plunged down the pass.
It is alleged that the bus collided with the side of the mountain slope, after which the driver lost control and the bus then rolled down the mountain slope.
