COVID-19 in SA: 11,535 new cases, 44 deaths recorded

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) reported that 11,535 new COVID-19 infections were recorded in the past 24 hours.
Gauteng accounts for over 8,000 of the new cases. A further 44 people have died from COVID-19 related complications, taking the death toll to 89,915.
The positivity rate currently stands at 22.4 per cent and 51,402 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours.
