Banyana Banyana crowned 2022 Women’s Afcon champions

Banyana Banyana has been crowned 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations winners. They won in style, beating Morocco 2-1. It took the team six attempts, but they finally have the cup in their hands, after dominating at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium last night.
Hildah Magaia was the heroine, netting a brace for Desiree Ellis’s team. Sports Minister Nathi Mthethwa was one of the first to congratulate the team.
He said the victory was a demonstration of the great strides taken by the women’s game on the continent.
The team returns home on Tuesday morning.
