17-year-old boy shot and killed in Khayelitsha
A 17-year-old boy has been shot and killed in Khayelitsha. The gun attack happened in Lindela Road in Kuyasa on Tuesday.
The police’s Wesley Twigg said the suspect fled the scene and the motive was still undetermined.
“According to reports, the victim was walking home when he was approached by an unknown man who took out a firearm and shot him. The victim sustained gunshot wounds to his chest and head and was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel.”
This follows a statement by the Western Cape Provincial Community Police Board expressing outrage by, what it called, the relentless violence that’s recently gripped the Cape.
Over the weekend, a shooting in Hout Bay claimed the lives of several people, while in the gang-stricken area of Hanover Park, seven teenagers were wounded in a gun attack.
