12-year-old and father killed outside school
A 12-year-old girl and her father have been shot dead outside a school in Katlehong on Wednesday afternoon. It’s understood the shooting took place at the Izibuko Primary School.
SAPS spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini stated the shooting occurred when a man and woman were collecting their child returning from a school trip.
The family was attacked by a group of men driving a white Toyota Quantum. The man died on the scene. The 12-year-old girl was hit by a stray bullet and died early on Thursday morning. Police do not know what the motive behind the attack was and no arrests have yet been made.
Dlamini said the police are currently pursuing leads in the investigation into the attack. Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi is on his way to the scene.
