MK Party wants harsh punishment for alleged killers of 2 Katlehong members

Dozens of uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) supporters gathered at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, expressing frustration over the murders of two of their own.

Bongani Mkhwanazi and Xolani Nzimande were shot dead in Katlehong in May, during an alleged dispute with African National Congress (ANC) supporters.

Four people arrested for their murders were set to appear at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court for a special bail application, set to be heard over Tuesday and Wednesday.

The four suspects made their first appearance last week, but the case was postponed after the State requested time to go through the docket.

The national leadership of the MK party has previously raised concerns over increasing incidents of political intolerance, insisting their members are being targeted.

The organization has urged the court to impose harsh punishment on the four suspects in this murder case.
