Zahara postpones album release

Singer and songwriter Zahara has postponed the release of her forthcoming studio album.

Real name Bulelwa Mkutukana, the musician released a statement to share the news and apologise to her fans, who had been anxiously waiting for the album for a while.

“It is with great sadness that due to the pandemic, I will be postponing the release of my album Nqaba Yam. I look forward to August and being able to actively travel and share my music once we are able to,” she said in a brief statement shared on her social media platforms.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Zahara said she hoped her upcoming album would live up to expectations.

“People have been waiting patiently for this album. I can’t wait for them to hear it as well as the growth since my last album,” she said.

A lot has happened in Zahara’s life recently.

She recently found herself on the wrong side of the law when she failed to appear in the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court, and was found guilty of being in contempt of court.

Zahara also lost her sister to a car accident earlier this year, and told the People’s Paper that she was healing with time.

“After news of her passing, everyone was waiting for me to break down, which never happened. I feel like she left a part of her with me,” she said.
