JMPD officers rescue children from window ledge

A JMPD member has rescued two little girls from the ledge of a building in Johannesburg.

The girls aged two and five were seen walking on a ledge on the third floor of a building.

Acting sergeant Tebogo Mailula acted swiftly with the assistance of a member of the public.

Mailula, who was on a patrol in the CBD along with three other officers as part of Operation Buya Mthetho, reached the girls from the floor below.

The girls’ mother had left them sleeping in the flat while she went to the butchery.

The MMC for Safety and Security in the City of Johannesburg, Councillor David Tembe, has commended the sergeant for his bravery.
