The Western Cape government is calling for tourism organizations in the province to apply for a funding opportunity for their tourism projects.

The provincial government said that R4 million had been made available for tourism growth in the province.

According to the provincial Economic Development and Tourism Department, the funding would cover developmental projects across the Western Cape.

Western Cape MEC for Finance and Economic Opportunities Mireille Wenger said that tourism in the Western Cape was on the up.

“We have moved from post-COVID recovery and into impressive growth, showing that the province is a tourism destination of choice and very much in demand.”

Wenger added that the initiative would help attract more tourists into the province and create employment opportunities.

“I would like to encourage those organizations who may benefit from the fund to apply without delay, and I look forward to working with the sector to attract more and more tourists to this wonderful province.”
