Warehouse Management and Maintenance of inventory system
Designing and implementing of warehouse floor plan to ensure the improved flow of inventory and to ensure inventory is easily located when needing to be picked
Capturing of daily production into Sage Evolution to ensure inventory levels are updated and live – weekly updated stock sheet required for production meeting
Ensure production is promptly cleared from the factory and packed according to warehouse floor pan
Performing a monthly inventory count on the last day of the month (finished and raw goods)
Confirmation of goods to be loaded on picking slip provided by internal sales (picking slips to be given back to internal sales in order to produce accurate delivery notes and invoices) All invoicing to be done by internal sales
Invoicing for deliveries only to be done on should internal sales employee be ill or on leave
Issuing of raw materials and packaging stock
Weekly update of raw material, packaging material and pallets to ensure orders are placed in time to avoid shortages
Maintaining of inventory levels as per minimum thresholds (including ensuring that sufficient inventory is available for walk in customers as per schedule provided)
Producing delivery documentation for deliveries to Pelchem and/or other locations necessary and ensuring an up to date record of goods delivered and received is maintained
Logistics
Ensuring drivers have valid drivers’ licences and are always on person
Ensuring relevant permits are obtained timeously to avoid issues at locations where driver permits are required
Ensuring that trucks are loaded as per picking slip and delivery note
Planning of delivery routes to ensure optimal efficiency
Ensuring that drivers are aware of routes to take to reach delivery destinations
Ensuring that goods are delivered as required timeously as per delivery schedule provided by internal sales
Ensuring that vehicles are inspected daily for any issues which need to be seen to (daily inspection reports to be completed)
Ensuring vehicles are maintained in proper condition and that problems are seen to promptly
For collections from customers and couriers to ensure that items loaded are as per delivery note and picking slip
For out of town goods sent via a courier company ensuring goods are double bagged to avoid potential spoliation and damage
Liaising with internal sales (and customers when necessary) as to the status of orders out for delivery
Goods and pallet returns
Inspect pallets returned to determine whether credit should be given (pallets being in usable condition and are not broken
Inspect finished goods returned that they are in a sealed sleeve/pallet in order to be bought back in to stock and credited
If finished goods returned from client are in opening package determine reason for return
Forklifts and drivers
Ensuring that forklifts are inspected daily for any issues which need to be seen to
Ensuring that forklifts are maintained in proper condition and that problems are seen
to promptly
Ensuring sufficient diesel is available at all time
Ensuring forklift drivers licences are up to date at all time and that renewals are organized promptly
Receiving of deliveries
Ensuring deliveries of raw materials, packaging goods, pallets and other items of such a nature are offloaded promptly and brought in to warehousing for proper storage
Ensuring that goods received agree to the relevant delivery note and that records are updated accordingly
General
Assisting with walk-in customers should internal sales be unable to provide assistance at that moment due to assisting another customer whether physically or via telephone call
Assisting with the answering of telephone calls should the internal sales and receptionist be unable to due to the performing of other duties at that present time

Minimum requirements:
Matric
5 years’ experience in a similar role
