SRC refuses to vacate residences following violent protests at CPUT

Almost all students have now left the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.

They were ordered to leave after violent protests that left buildings and vehicles damaged.

But some students and the SRC are holding out, saying they were not given enough time to prepare.

Classes were suspended following two days of protest action by students.

CPUT says it hasn’t decided yet on whether studies will be conducted on its online platforms.
