Popular South African radio and TV personality Unathi Nkayi has rubbished reports that she and Prince Kaybee are in a romantic relationship.
This comes after a video of the two stars riding on a motorbike together went viral.
The clip sees Unathi sitting behind Prince Kaybee (real name Kabelo Motsamai) on a motorbike. Before the Gugulethu hitmaker drives off with the former Idols SA judge, he says: “Please don’t be scared of anything, hold my shoulders.”
“FULL CIRCLE, I love you my friend, thank you for yesterday,” Prince Kaybee wrote when he shared the video.
While fans immediately started speculating that the pair were an item, a picture of the them emerged. The photograph shows the former Kaya FM presenter with her son as well as Prince Kaybee and his son. The image further fuelled dating rumours between the two musicians.
However, Prince Kaybee nipped the rumours in the bud. Responding to the post of his picture with Unathi and his children, the DJ questioned why he’s always presumed to be in a sexual relationship with every woman in his life.
“Lol shame man, every woman in my life I sleep with. It doesn’t matter but Unathi has been a friend for years., Love her to bits,” he wrote.
This is not the first time that Prince Kaybee and Unathi spark romance rumours. In 2022, the DJ again denied the rumours after a video of them together. It turned out that the pair were actually working on a song together titled Thixo Wethu.
Unathi has since also denied the claims in an interview with ZiMoja.
The Wethembisile hitmaker described Prince Kaybee as family. She explained that he supported her and help her get through her dismissal from Kaya FM in 2022.
“He’s family. He even met my dad in 2021, when we were recording a song together in Gqeberha. This was when Kaya FM fired me and he helped me through it with my father. They kept me in that bubble in PE for a week away from it all. I owe him a lot,” she said.
The former Metro FM presenter also revealed that Prince Kaybee’s girlfriend was present the night they took those pictures.
“He is like a brother to me and his girlfriend was there that night, I don’t get why people are going wild over a picture.”
Prince Kaybee was previously in a relationship with new Metro FM presenter, Zola “Zee Lovin” Myeza (Mhlongo). The pair have a son together.
On the other hand, Unathi was married to fellow radio host, Thomas Msengana. The former couple, who got married in 2009 and divorced in 2017, have a son and a daughter together.
