Idols SA judge Unathi Msengana has rubbished recent tabloid reports that claimed that she owes over R100 000 on her electricity bill
Earlier this week Sunday Sun reported that Unathi’s electricity was allegedly cut off after she failed to settle her account, which amounts to R166 678.
The paper further claims that Unathi apparently failed to make payment arrangements despite several requests.
“If she’s a tenant, she owes R166 000 and we’ve done all in our power to remind her and ensure it’s paid. But it’s been all in vain,” City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena apparently told the tabloid.
Unathi shared screenshots of her most recent bill, which according to her has a balance of R2 623,53.
She also re-posted a video which she initially shared two weeks ago, claiming that City Power officials wanted access to her home but would not provide identification.
Unathi said that she was seeking legal advice over the matter and made it clear that she would not be “bullied”
“I will not be bullied for posting the video that I did. I have posted it again so that South Africa knows how you treat women who know they have a right to complain. PS. I’m sitting in my house as I post this and my lights are on,” she said on Instagram.
